Thanksgiving Unit

For critical thinking I discussed how Thanksgiving is celebrated today compared to the ways the holiday was celebrated in years passes. I had the students compare and contrast the Thanksgiving holiday and talk about any "family" traditions in their homes. I used a factual question worksheet that followed the Blooms Taxonomy.
Matter Unit
For my matter lesson I conducted an experiment with the class and the students had to make "ooze". While the students were making the ooze they soon discovered it turned to liquid in your hands, but returned to solid when it left your hands. The students were amazed how the ooze could so easily change between two states of matter. I asked the students open ended questions to further engage their thinking. For example, I asked, "Why does the ooze turn into liquid and solid?" and "How can the ooze form two states of matter?"
