Bacclaureate

I originally began my college career at the University of Texas, San Antonio. After relocating to Huntsville in 2005, I enrolled at the University of Alabama in Huntsville to finish my Education degree. I received my BA in Elementary Education/Collaborative in December 2009 and begin my journey as an education professional. You can find a synopsis of what I have been doing since receiving my certification in the Post Graduation link above.

University of Texas, San Antonio (UTSA)

I began pursuit of an Education degree while living in San Antonio. It was a slow start as I was working, raising my son, and caring for my elderly parents. However, I managed to complete many of the basic degree requirements at UTSA which helped immensely after I enrolled in the UAH program as I was able to concentrate on the required EDU courses.

University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH)

I enrolled at the University of Alabama in Huntsville in the Fall of 2005. I thought courses were tough in Texas and had the misconception that an "Alabama" school would be a breeze...Boy was I wrong! UAH is pretty thorough and the instructors make sure students perform. Having completed many of the required basic undergraduate courses at UTSA, I was quickly immersed in the Elementary Education program. This was a fortunate time to begin this UAH program as there were a number of talented professors associated with the program. (I believe many of them are still there!) I was very active in the Student Alabama Education Association (SAEA) holding the office of President for over one year and spearheading a number of projects including Read Across America and a number of membership socials. The curriculum was fast and furious but I still managed to graduate Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. Elementary Education (K-6 Certification) and minor in Collaborative Education.

Future Education!

One day in the not so distant future I hope to return to school and work on my Master's degree in education. This will probably wait until I have a full-time teaching position and at least five years experience under my belt.
